Unfortunately, the Ken Barrington Centre (KBC) at The Oval is now unavailable for bookings until the
summer of 2025. The KBC will be undergoing renovations as part of a wider project to improve the
Bedser Stand facilities available for the professional teams. We will be increasing the capacity of
the KBC to four lanes as well as improving the changing rooms and the shower facilities.
These works are integral to ensuring that we have the best changing and training facilities for
Surrey men's and women's teams who will both be operating out of The Kia Oval in 2025.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause. If you require any support in order to source
alternative training facilities, please contact the Club Support Team at the Surrey Cricket
Foundation on foundation@surreycricket.com.
Welcome
Concentrating on cricket coaching: the Ken Barrington Cricket Centre in the Kia Oval and the Surrey County Cricket Centre in Guildford.
Both cricket centres serve to assist in the development of cricketers of all age and ability ranges.

Year Groups 4, 5 & 6 - These courses will help the children to develop a wide range of cricket techniques and all sessions include a range of warm ups, skills and games, designed for both beginners and experienced cricketers. This is very much the ignition stage for young cricketers - giving them the spark for a lifelong love of the game.
This course MAY use hard balls for some of the activities and so if your child has their own protective equipment this should be brought along because it is not provided.
The full list of protective equipment is a batting helmet, pads, gloves and an abdominal protector. A thigh pad is also recommended but this is not essential. If your child has their own cricket bat, they are welcome to bring this to the course.
If your child does not have their own protective equipment, they will still be able to take part in the programme in full.
Note: This course is scheduled to take place over eleven weeks with an end date of 14th December. This said, there will be ten weeks of coaching. There is NO SESSION on the 26th October.
