Sharpen Up: Essential is designed for young cricketers in School Years 6–9 who are serious about developing their skills and unlocking their full potential. This 10-week coaching programme delivers focused, small-group sessions where every player receives personalised support and feedback. The off-season is the perfect time for real progress, when players can refine their technique, grow their game knowledge, and strengthen their confidence. That’s exactly what Sharpen Up: Essential is built to do.
Each week, Surrey Cricket Foundation Coaches lead high-quality sessions covering all key aspects of the game - batting, bowling, fielding, and tactical awareness, giving players the tools and insights they need to become well-rounded, match-ready cricketers.
Programme Structure: Block Two (January – March)
Across ten weeks, players will build a solid foundation in every core skill area, developing consistency, confidence, and technical understanding. Sessions are designed to challenge players at the right pace, with individual attention in every group. For returning players from Block 1, the focus shifts to mastering the finer details, improving precision, deepening tactical understanding, and embedding the skills that make a real difference on the field. It’s about turning good habits into great performances, ready for the 2026 season.
